History was made on November 16th 2015 as Michael Okpara UniAgric Microfinance Bank Ltd launched its avant-garde corporate Head office at the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike. What started as a wishful thinking became a reality as the new Ultra-Modern Building was commissioned by the Vice chancellor of the University, Prof Hillary Odo Edeoga.
It was a moment of excitement as the occasion witnessed the presence of mammoth crowd ranging from customers of the bank to members of the University community as well as friends of the young but dynamic and ever growing microfinance bank. Also at the venue to witness the success of the bank within the short period of her existence were the traditional rulers of Ikwuano community, members of the diplomatic corps as well leaders of taught including throng of micro individuals.
The height of the occasion was when the Vice Chancellor of the University who is also the Chairman of the bank, Prof. Hilary Odo Edeoga officially opened the edifice for business by cutting a ribbon blocking the entrance of the bank.
Highlights of the event included testimonies from leaders of credit unions who have benefited from the micro-group lending facility of the Bank.
In his vote of thanks, the Managing Director of the Bank, Mr. Bashir Ogungbangbe thanked the guest for honoring the bank’s invitation and said that the bank is at the verge of securing her state license which will create opportunity for the bank to open branches within Abia State. He also assured customers of the bank’s readiness to put smile on their faces.
